Our Vision
Together we inspire possibilities.
Together we share joy.
Together we belong.
At Kelvedon St Mary's, we believe that everyone is valued, every voice matters and everyone has a place within our community.
Inspired by Jesus' parable of the Great Banquet (Luke 14:15–24), we seek to create a school where all are welcomed, included and encouraged to belong. Guided by the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up..." we nurture a culture of mutual support, joyful learning and shared responsibility.
We aspire to be a community of hope, compassion and joyful hospitality where every child and adult is welcomed, encouraged and inspired to flourish. Our vision belongs to everyone in our community. It shapes the way children learn, the way staff work together, the partnerships we build with families and the relationships we foster within our wider community.
Living our Vision
Our vision is more than a statement, it shapes everything we do. It influences the relationships we build, the curriculum we teach, the experiences we offer and the way we care for one another every day.
Together we inspire possibilities
We believe every child has unique gifts and limitless potential.
Through an ambitious curriculum, rich learning experiences and a culture of curiosity, we encourage children to explore, ask questions, persevere through challenges and develop the confidence to discover what they are capable of. We want every child to leave Kelvedon believing there are exciting possibilities ahead and knowing they have the skills, character and resilience to embrace them.
Together we share joy
Joy is at the heart of our school community.
We celebrate learning, creativity, friendship and achievement, recognising that success comes in many forms. We encourage children to find wonder in the world around them, to appreciate the gifts of others and to experience the happiness that comes from learning, serving and growing together.
Together we belong
Everyone deserves to know they have a place.
Inspired by the Great Banquet, we strive to create a school where everyone is welcomed, valued and included. We encourage children to build one another up through kindness, honesty and respect, to stand up for what is right and to ensure that no one is left out. We believe our community is strongest when every individual feels safe, known and loved.
Our Biblical Foundation
Our vision is theologically rooted in two key passages from the Bible.
The Great Banquet (Luke 14:15–24)
In Jesus' parable, everyone is invited to the banquet, even those who might otherwise have been overlooked or excluded. This reminds us that God's invitation is for everyone and that every person has inherent value and dignity. It inspires us to build a school where everyone is welcomed, included and given opportunities to flourish.
"Encourage one another and build each other up" (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
These words remind us that the way we treat one another matters. We seek to create a culture where encouragement is part of everyday life, where children and adults celebrate one another's successes, support one another through challenges and help each other become the very best versions of themselves.
Our Christian Values
Our vision is lived out through our core values:
Kindness - We care for others with compassion and generosity.
Honesty - We act with integrity, tell the truth and take responsibility for our actions.
Respect - We value ourselves, one another, our differences and the world.
Together, these values help us create a school where everyone can flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
