The Grove is Kelvedon St Mary’s school-led wraparound care offer, providing trusted breakfast (Start), after-school (Stay) and holiday club (Play) provision for children at our school.
Run by the school, for our school community, The Grove gives children a safe, familiar and enriching place to be before school, after school and during the holidays.
Our aim is simple: to support working families with reliable, high-quality childcare while giving children the opportunity to eat well, play, build friendships, enjoy enrichment and flourish beyond the school day.
START helps children begin the school day well.
Children can arrive early, enjoy breakfast, spend time with friends and take part in calm, welcoming activities before the school day begins. The focus is on creating a positive, settled start so children are ready to learn.
STAY provides a safe and enjoyable extension to the school day.
Children can relax, play, take part in activities, enjoy a snack, complete quiet tasks if they wish, and spend time with friends in a familiar school environment.
STAY gives families flexibility while ensuring children remain well cared for by trusted adults who understand the school, its routines and its values.
PLAY offers fun, active and enriching holiday provision during school holidays and selected INSET days.
Children can enjoy a wide range of games, creative activities, outdoor play, sports and themed sessions. PLAY is designed to support working families while giving children opportunities to explore, make friends and enjoy new experiences.
Holiday club dates may vary depending on demand, staffing and site arrangements.

The Grove is more than childcare.
It is part of our wider school offer: a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where children can continue to grow, play and flourish beyond the formal school day.
Through Start, Stay and Play sessions, children benefit from:
familiar school surroundings
trusted adults who know the children
clear safeguarding arrangements
healthy food and snacks
a balance of calm, active and creative opportunities
positive routines before and after school
inclusive support for different needs
strong links between home, school and community
The Grove is run by our school, for our school community.
This means provision is shaped around the needs of children and families, rather than a one-size-fits-all commercial model. Children remain in a familiar environment, supported by staff who understand the school, its routines, its safeguarding arrangements and its values.
As part of Canonium Learning Trust, Kelvedon St Mary’s works with other schools across the Trust to share expertise, resources and strong systems. This helps us provide wraparound care that is consistent, sustainable and focused on children’s wellbeing.
Our Trust vision is:
One body, many members, flourishing together.
The Grove reflects this vision by supporting families, strengthening school communities and helping children access wider opportunities.
Through The Grove, we aim to provide:
safe and well-supervised provision
a warm and welcoming environment
positive relationships with trusted adults
healthy food and snacks
a balance of play, rest and activity
inclusive provision for children’s different needs
reliable support for working families
clear booking and communication arrangements
fair and transparent pricing

A collection password is required to help us keep your child safe when using The Grove Wraparound care club at Kelvedon Academy.
If someone other than a parent or carer is collecting your child, they must be authorised by you and will be asked to provide the correct password before your child is released. This includes family members, friends, or other adults who are not known to our staff.
If the correct password cannot be provided, or if the adult has not been authorised to collect your child, we will contact the parent or carer before releasing the child. This safeguarding measure helps ensure that children are only collected by people who have permission to do so.
Please provide an appropriate collection password that can be shared with The Grove staff in September for this purpose. We recommend choosing a password that is easy for authorised collectors to remember but not easily guessed by others.
Parents with Parental Respeonisbility are asked to complete the following \google form to provide a collection password for their child: https://forms.gle/TxcwoSNKmDnswEgP7
To help us maintain appropriate staffing levels and keep our fees as affordable as possible, all wraparound care sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.
If you need to cancel a session, please provide at least 48 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with more than 48 hours' notice will be credited back to your Arbor account for use against future bookings.
As a parent or guardian, you cannot cancel or modify booked wraparound sessions (Breakfast or After-School Clubs) yourself via the Arbor Parent Portal or Arbor App.
To cancel a prebooked session:
Contact your child's school office directly via email.admin@kelvedonacademy.com
Provide your child's name and the exact session dates you wish to cancel.
The school's admin team will remove the participant from the register and process any required refunds or credits to your customer account manually.
Unfortunately, cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or non-attendance on the day, cannot be refunded or credited, as staffing and resources will already have been arranged.
If the school is unable to provide a booked session, a full refund or account credit will be issued.

The Grove Holiday Club is also open to children who do not attend Kelvedon Academy. If you would like to register your child to attend during the school holidays, please complete the Google Form below.
Once your registration has been processed, we will contact you with details of how to access our booking system. You will be sent instructions for setting up an Arbor Parent App account, which you will use to book and pay for Holiday Club sessions.
Please allow sufficient time for your child's registration to be processed before you wish them to attend, as it may take a few working days for the registration to be completed.
Please note: Registering your child does not book them onto any Holiday Club sessions. Once your Arbor account has been set up, all sessions must be booked and paid for in advance through the Arbor Parent App. Availability is subject to spaces being available at the time of booking.
